Sunday, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) called for term limits for federal government bureaucrats as a way to curb corruption and the growth of government during an appearance on FNC’s “The Next Revolution.”
The Tennessee Republican U.S. Senator explained to Fox News Channel’s Steve Hilton such a move would be an effective way to “drain the swamp.”
“It has been an incredible year, one that nobody anticipated,” she said. “And one of the things I think is so precise that you have just touched on is that Big Business, Big Government, Big Tech, Big Media — they all go hand in hand, and they’re all a part of the D.C. swamp. And thank goodness for Donald Trump and his efforts to drain the swamp, and I think the American people are finding out just have murky the swamp is.”
“And you know, Steve, one of the things you touched on about the bureaucracy and cutting it,” Blackburn continued. “I have said for a long time — we need to have term limits for bureaucrats because they are the ones that dig in, and they won’t leave, and they never modernize. They don’t use technology. They always demand more money. They never get a pay cut. They are always getting pay raises, so we need to have term limits for bureaucrats.”
Absolutely need term limits ! Too much corruption and power the longer you are in office.
We need 6-year term limits for Governors, House and Senate. No need to campaign for re-election, you’re in for 6 years and then you are out. This includes aides as well.

We not only need term limits for bureaucrats, we need to stop bureaucrats from assisting corrupt companies while in office and then immediately becoming CEO or CFO of these same companies as soon as they retire from government positions. YES!!!! This is how the constitution meant it to be! It is an unbelievable stat I read, stating that 50 % of congress are millionaires where as the rest of the country is 6%, this is so wrong. Never was it considered in the constitution to have ” career politicians”. To me , this is the very root of our division in our country. People get so ensconced with their party, they place party over the people. I understand that is probably a result of, if, they don’t tow the party line, they know their chances of being reelected almost disappear. With that their chances of a political career also vanish! The lack of new representation greatly diminishes new ideas but also would keep attitudes such as many dems have of knowing and caring for their people.
